ThanksgivingNovember 24, 2008
Dear Ones,
Mimi and I, along with our African family of faith, thank God for you. Please know of our prayers for you and of our great encouragement as you pray for us. We are most grateful for your presence in our lives and for all of our lives now being in Christ.
This season, as we enjoy God’s gracious gifts, may we especially treasure one another. I am reminded of the song of ascents (Psalm 133) wherein the poet extols the unique quality of God’s children enjoying life together. Running out of adjectives, the poet writes that it is like the precious anointing oil dumped all over one’s head, dripping down one’s clothes. It is like the fresh dew on a cool morning … seemingly coming from above. Because there - where God’s children are enjoying life together - God has commanded the blessing. Eternal life. Mimi and I thank you, most of all, for helping us enjoy the blessing of eternal life. We are looking forward to enjoying more with you.
May we all be so grateful as to give into the lives of the needy that surround us - near and far.
Thank you, and thank you Jesus!
Happy Thanksgiving.
Love,
Jamie

He informed me of his name, Onesmus, and told me that he had just arrived in order to graduate the next day at the large ceremony KBTC would be ... It continued in Kenya with a summer long practicum with another people, experiencing rich community in ways that left us permanently changed. That joy and that life continues to haunt us, to challenge us, and to bless us, even today.
Psalm 133 was sung in anticipation of communal worship to the King. It is about how good and how marvelous life is when we ... July 15, 2010 Dear Ones,
