OikosPrayer Request
September 13, 2009 What began as an effort to help with Bible study for the young people of our home church remains just that. After walking carefully through 1 John we have made it all the way to 1 John 4:14. Starting back on September 6, we'll begin the final two sections of 1 John. Through 1 John, God has been teaching us much about love - particularly as it relates to our relationships with Christian brothers and sisters. Mimi and I are yearning for more meaningful relationships with a small community of believers - for koinonia. We are praying that Oikos will grow into this community - this spiritual reality. Please pray for us and with us for a diverse, organically growing family of faith. Our deep desire is also our deep need. Mimi and I thank God for those that God has called to join us in this journey. Our Oikos leadership team has done much to help those that come to our Bible study. We are grateful for the faithful ones that have caught a fresh glimpse of God's heart through our study of 1 John. May we be moved to live together in new and more meaningful ways. May God challenge us all as He feeds us through His Word! Answer to Prayer
June 5, 2010
With mixed feelings, we finished studying 1 John together this spring and moved into Psalms. With 1 John still in our minds and hearts, Mimi and I continue to pray for deepening relationships with our Oikos brothers and sisters. We pray that God will cause us to live together in more meaningful ways. Lord, may you form us into a spiritual community that knows you in the unity wrought by your Spirit. As summer has now come, Mimi and I pray for our Oikos family as we move to minister with our African family of faith for this season. May Oikos leaders be drawn out into the joy of giving more and may each of us find the conviction and the pleasure of caring for and sharing with each other. Lord, we pray that you will continue to challenge us and change us as you feed us through the teaching of your Scriptures. May we all enjoy a summer season of growth and be reunited in the fall with a sense of expectancy, hope, and joy!
