It’s Greek and Hebrew for Me

Prayer Request
December 1, 2007
It’s Greek and Hebrew for Me
Some say "it's Greek to me" when they get frustrated and don't understand. Some say "it's Greek and Hebrew for me" as God moves them to desire a more robust reading of His word in pursuit of enjoying Him even more. Please pray for our Greek and Hebrew students across the world as they journey onward and upward with our Lord. Mimi and I are proud of each and every one of them! We ask God to increase our appetite for Him as His Holy Spirit teaches us to better apprehend Him by more precise and more powerful readings of Scripture.

In particular, please pray for Andrea and Ricky Mena as they move from Houston to Cape Town, South Africa next month to begin an MA in Biblical Languages at the University of Stellenbosch. We miss them already. In like manner, please pray for Josh and Bri Westbury as they prepare for a similar move to begin the same MA program over the coming days.

Also, please pray for all of our students now teaching Greek and Hebrew across the world in churches, in schools, and in seminaries. Specifically, please pray for Grant Rothberg as he travels with me this month to Africa and teaches his first seminary class.

Thank you for praying - Andrea and Ricky Mena are now safe and sound in Cape Town, South Africa. They both have begun their MA programs and seem to be growing and stretching. Andrea is teaching a Hebrew grammar class at the University of Stellenbosch. Wow! God is so very faithful....

Josh and Bri Westbury are making great progress in their planning to move to Cape Town where Josh will also pursue an MA in Biblical Languages. Thank you, Lord, for their growing excitement.

Grant Rothberg taught his first seminary class in Africa last December and did a great job! I will never forget the last day of his class, as I sat in the back of the room listening to the African students thank him. Like a proud papa! Please continue to pray for Grant, as he is now teaching a Hebrew grammar class at his home church here in Houston. Go, man, go!

Thank you, Lord, for my other students now teaching Hebrew in Houston area churches - Daniel Rodriguez and Angie Westmoreland. May God continue to teach all of us!
