Behind the LinesPrayer Request
September 11, 2009  Welp ... what does one who still hates school and can't imagine anything worse than religious school say about praying for his ministry at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary?
Please pray for the dear pastors and other Bible teachers that are studying Greek with me that our time together would be full-on, fervent worship. Please pray for God to amaze us with fresh thoughts as we learn to read Scripture with more precision and power. Please pray for much conviction ... and more compassion. Please pray that everything we do will be birthed from a childlike devotional life walked out in adoration of our perfect Lover, the Christ Jesus. Also, please pray for my little bother, Chris Mitchell, as he teaches Greek with me this year. Please pray for me to model well the passion and purpose that through history has brought us so much from so many who gave all to this process. Answer to Prayer

Thank you, Lord, for another school year come and gone. We thank God for the many worshipful Tuesday evenings shared with brothers and sisters learning how to better read and apply Scripture. What a treat to enjoy the devotional effort with young pastors and Bible teachers struggling to learn New Testament Greek! Thank you for the dear young students following after your calling and preparing to serve you more effectively. May they know your pleasure as they seek to know you better. Thank you for all of Chris' great help. May you continue to increase our joy as you teach us how to best help others. May our devotion to Christ continue to grow as you continue to bring more conviction and more compassion.
