Another Nonteacher in Action!Prayer Request
April 8, 2008 Our little ones, Andrea and Ricky Mena are enjoying challenging new adventures at the University of Stellenbosch in Cape Town, South Africa. Both are in MA programs and progressing nicely. Andrea's biblical languages program is under the supervision of one of the world's premier Hebraists, Christo van der Merwe. Soon after assessing Andrea's ability to read biblical Hebrew, Christo invited Andrea to teach Hebrew. Amazing. Andrea is now teaching Hebrew to undergraduates at the University of Stellenbosch. My first HBU Biblical Languages graduate makes the bigtime! God is faithful. Mimi and I thank God for this dear young couple and ask that you join us in praying for them both. Please pray that Ricky and Andrea's new challenges will increase their appetites for our Lord. Father, in weakness make complete the power of Jesus in these young lives! Please pray that God will continue to knit Ricky and Andrea together. Lord, in marriage teach us the joy of giving. Please pray that Andrea will enjoy her ministry of teaching as much and as I enjoy mine! My God, renew our minds as we worship you.... Answer to Prayer

Our first HBU Biblical Languages granddaughter! We thank God that Andrea and Ricky now have Elianah to share with the rest of the world. I can't yet tell if Elianah will prefer Hebrew or Greek, but we will be praying! Andrea and Ricky have moved back to Houston for a season. Ricky is now working at Jacobs Engineering and Andrea is continuing her MA in Biblical Languages program at the University of Stellenbosch - from Houston. One can imagine that being Elianah's mom is now Andrea's full-time ministry. Andrea, Ricky, and Elianah are back with Ricky's family and their extended family at Wilcrest Baptist Church. We thank God for His care and ask that you continue to pray for this young family. Lord, in marriage, teach us the joy of giving!
