Many have come to know Zambian pastor Conrad Mbewe as "the African Spurgeon."  Mbewe has been pastoring Kabwata Baptist Church in Lusaka for over 20 years now.   In addition to leading his thriving church, Mbewe is an itinerant preacher, world-renowned speaker, and an avid writer much like the famous British "Prince of Preachers," Charles Haddon Spurgeon.  But it is not just what he does that earns Pastor Mbewe this iconic comparison, it is also how he does it.   Like Spurgeon, Mbewe maintains a rigorous ministry schedule, is passionate about his faith, and is militant in his challenge to the "mile wide and inch deep" church of Zambia.   And Mbewe, like Spurgeon, has been driven to exhaustion by his numerous ministry activities.  Conrad Mbewe himself believes he is simply doing his job as a pastor.  You can read more about Conrad Mbewe in the World Magazine article: The Spurgeon of Africa.
